Stephanie's Sparkly Wedding Cake

My little sister surprised us with a 13 day engagement. About a week before the wedding I was asked to make her wedding cake. This is the simple yet elegant cake we came up with in that short time frame. Lots of sparkle was a must for this cake! The sparkle is actually a ribbon I found at hobby lobby for only $15 a spool! Then I made three white little gumpaste flowers with silver dragees in the middle.

Once I got to the wedding I added a silver S & S on the top for Stephanie and Shane

My Little Pony Cake for My Little Madelynn

My Madelynn turned 4, and she requested a My Little Pony birthday cake. So of course, mommy delivered. It ended up being a crazy week so this cake got pushed to the back burner and was a little rushed, but for a rush job it still turned out pretty fun.

I also made a bunch of rainbow cupcakes for the guests. I totally spaced taking pictures of them before they were eaten, but each child got a cupcake with their own little My Little Pony figurine to take home as a party favor, and the extra cupcakes had a royal icing number 4 on them. Luckily there were a few of those left after the party so I was able to catch a quick picture of them before they were devoured. It was a fun birthday for my spunky little 4 year old!

Beauty and the Beast / Poker Cake

For this cake, the bride came to me with two very specific and very different cake ideas. One half would be her purple beauty and the beast falling rose petals cake, and the other half would be her husbands poker cake. This cake was a unique challenge because I got to find a way to blend the two together in a way that would hopefully work. Putting the multi colored fondant on the cake at at 45% angle was also a new task for me. The whole cake was brushed with luster dust to give it a pearlized look that was really pretty in person. I also make all the playing cards and poker chips and the rose and its petals out of gumpaste. So enjoy this cake with the split personality!

Jessica's Lace and Teal Wedding Cake

This wedding cake was for my little sister. I still cant believe she is married! She told me she wanted lace like her wedding dress and her sea-foam/teal wedding color incorporated in the cake and then gave me free reign to do what I wanted. I LOVE that. I was able to make a cake for my sister that she loved, but its a style that I love too! It was a chocolate cake covered in fondant and all of the lace applique is fondant as well. We finished it off with a ribbon that was being used in her wedding decor as well. I am still loving my living room wall color, it was perfect to photograph this cake against.

Once we got to the wedding we finished of the cake by putting roses on top and surrounding it with rose petals on the bottom. I thought it was stunning and would make this cake again in a heartbeat. It's too bad brides tend to have something in mind already rather than wanting me to replicate a cake I've already made! forgive the low quality pictures at the end, they were taken with my phone.

Simple Houndstooth Wedding Cake

I really like this cake. It is super simple but I love it. It is just covered in white fondant with a houndstooth ribbon that I think came from Costco. I am also loving my teal living room wall to take pictures in front of.
